After graduating an hons degree in fine art and exhibiting in the South and London for a few years she moved to Peebles in 1980.
”I exhibit mostly in and around the borders and Edinburgh. The beauty of Scotland has, in various ways, had a big influence on what I paint and the colours I use. I usually paint in acrylic or gouache but also love to draw in a variety of mediums.
Lots of things can inspire me, colours, light and the play of shadows or even a piece of text or music.
My style is usually quite detailed but I like to counteract this sometimes by using a more sketchy, fluid approach.”
