Sarah Long has had a love of painting nature and creating art all my life, spending many weekends of her childhood outside in the Lake district and Yorkshire dales for inspiration. She studied art and design at Bretton Hall in Yorkshire, exploring fine art textiles.
Sarah returned to art as a form of healing after the death of her partner in 2000, and her love of animals became her main subject. Her first drawings where in pastels and over time she has moved towards oil on canvas. Sarah now draws inspiration from her home in the Scottish Borders.
Sarah’s work aims to capture the innocence and beauty of animals, she hopes to hold a little of their power and essence in each painting.
